The Washing Of Your Tears Poem by John Paul Butler

The Washing Of Your Tears

I try washing your tears
In the moisture of an April cloud
It doesn't work and you
Fall down from that shroud

So I try washing your tears
In drivings of the following rain
It doesn't work either and
Just drives you insane

Then l try washing your tears
Deep in the mountainous stream
It doesn't work and they
Still teem and they still teem

So l try washing your tears
In all of the oceans too
It doesn't work either but
That's nothing new

Finally l try washing your tears
With this one tear of mine
And it works so well that
Now you're sublime
