The Weeping Girl Poem by Charlene Chan

The Weeping Girl

Darkened the sky, morning rain
flooded the narrow lane
which blocks the way
up the hill, on a windy May day.
Weep the sky,
cry the butterfly,
as tears dropp from my eyes.
Birds fly
without humming peaceful rhyme.
The sun woke up late.
Maybe he had a date
with stars last night staying up late.
Finally, he came,
driving the thick dark cloud away.
Rings the phone,
she softens her tone.
Not a long conversation, though,
enough to enlighten her soul.
Warmth dries the ground.
On the face of the weeping girl, found
a smile from the deep deep down
of her heart which tells that the talk was profound,
as if she just heard the greatest heavenly sound.
Dreadful morning
followed by a lovely sun shining
with birds singing,
butterflies dancing
and the heart of a girl vigorously beating.
