The Weight Of Unspoken Words Poem by Bharati Nayak

Words are vehicles that carry our emotions
Words may be spoken or unspoken
Spoken words may reach their destination
But, the unspoken words like a bridged river
accumulate inside the heart
Words when rise, heart seeks an outlet
If the words of hurt come shooting your way
Though invisible, they will cause much damage.
Our mind is always in a constant mode of dialogue
Some words we speak to ourselves, some words to others
The words of anger or hate should be used carefully
Otherwise they would come back to hurt you as a boomerang.
But, the feelings of hurt and
the unspoken words if kept inside for long
May cause the heart to burn
So we may speak to some close confidante
to unburden our heart
But words should always be used wisely
Because words can make or break a relationship.
