'The Words You Write' (Nigeria) Poem by Linda Winchell

'The Words You Write' (Nigeria)

A sadness sweeps across me
as I read the poems you write.
It doesn't seem fair to me
that your country murders and rapes
and thinks what they're doing is alright!

My mind can not comprehend at all
of the pain you must be living in.
I would never want to walk in your shoes
nor be in the place that your living in.

Yet I can't help but feel for you
and take your words deep into my heart.
They place me there, where your at
your words strike deeply from their start.

I never know how to comment
when I read your poems over and over again!
I want to reach across the screen
and share your pain, of lifes inflicted, like a friend.

I know that will never be the case
but understand that I really do care, of what your words convey.
And if I could, I wanted you to know these things
but I haven't the right words it seems to say.

God Bless, and may there be Peace.
