The World Around Me Constantly Spins Poem by Barry Spurlock

The World Around Me Constantly Spins

The world around me constantly spins- and it's harder and harder for me to figure out which way to enter in- through all this darkness there has to be some light- so like a bird I see the tend of the tunnel and take my flight- so close it seems but yet so far away- the darkness clings its hold on me another day- is there no refuge no escape from this torment of haze- why can't I control my feelings from bursting into a blaze- when she touches my skin everything around me fades- and but yet again I'm standing in the field of my dreams under the shades- the trees seem as though they try to speak to me- but in my insolence I ignore them and try to embrace what's to be- she's always on my mind and I any help but stumble- and when she asks me a question it takes all I have to keep from the mumble- she is what I would do anything for- so to hold everything back from hurting her I shut the door.
