The World Ocean Levels Are Rising Poem by Terence George Craddock

The World Ocean Levels Are Rising

Rating: 5.0

the question asked is
are the world ocean
levels rising and why?

TV script writers on news channels
consistently claim world ocean levels
are rising due to break away icebergs

calving breaking off ice sheets in Antarctica
enormous ice burgs separating from ice shelves
extensions of polar glaciers into the polar sea

thus the question is the ocean level rising
due to massive icebergs melting melts at sea
the frozen ice and displacement of sea water

seems equal according to scientific experiments
it indicates sea rise is from less snow ice on land
on mountains mild warmer winters shorter winters

winters coming late shorter earlier spring thaws
winters not as cold means less snow ice water on land
but a huge pending problem is coming ice shelves

in the sea slows the spread of the ice behind
that sits wholly on land keeping the ice sheet
bigger the ocean smaller ocean levels lower

it is land-based ice that raises alarms about sea levels
if land-based ice reaches the sea faster it alarming means
sudden new additions to world's oceans waters will rise

reflected sunlight off white snow ice in polar regions
in winter height mountain regions in ice locked lands
keeps earth temperatures global climate cooler colder

less ice warmer temperatures rapid climate change
warmer temperatures hot days evaporation warmer seas
more water in clouds more vicious rain storms floods
