The Wrecked Generation Poem by Daya Nandan

The Wrecked Generation

I am part of a wrecked generation,
And i do not believe that,
we can make a difference in this life,
'Love and compassion are the pillars of humanity',
is the biggest lie and,
'Money, status and power matters most',
I will make sure that my children know,
'Ethics and virtues are useless in our world',
i will never accept ideas and phrases like,
'Virtues like kindness and compassion makes us human beings',
I believe beyond reasonable doubt that,
The world will keep changing based on the common mindset,
We live in an environment of our own making,
Change will happen!
Corruption and evil will inevitably grow stronger,
It would be foolish and naive to presume that,
There is hope for the future of mankind,
It is crystal clear that,
My generation does not care for the future,
And it will be ignorant to believe,
There is hope,
And all of this will be the future unless we reverse it.
