There Must Be More To Life Than Everything, As Maurice Sendak Said

THERE MUST BE MORE TO LIFE HAVING EVERYTHING

There must be more to life than having everything,
Maurice Sendak once declared. Since he knew where the wild
things are, he educated more than just his own offspring
that having more than life is not hard if you have a child.

Maurice Sendak, who died today, is said to have stated, "There must be more to life than having everything." Abigail inspired me to add to three Maurice Sendak-inspired poems I had already written by writing to me:

Just heard a clip of an interview with him, telling how the Wild Things all came from his seder nights with his old relatives, with the hair sprouting out of their ears and noses and weird looking moles! Amusing, but terribly unflattering picture of us Yidden. Apparently the entire interview is available on wqxr.org, but I have to run and have no time to listen to it. If you do and it's interesting let me know. I expected Sendak-inspired poetry by now.....where is it? ? ! !
