There's A Woman Somewhere

Rating: 4.8

There’s a woman somewhere who cares about me.
Whether on the bus, in a car, or sitting on a chair somewhere,
She’s smiles about me, she knows me.

People think she’s crazy, she doesn’t care about that.
She sometimes listens to the same music at the same time as me,
There’s some kind of synchronicity.

I want her to know, that I’m there for her, next to her.
On the bus, when she cups her hand in her cheek
When she smiles, thinking about me I’m there for her.

When she leans back in her chair, relaxed at ease with herself
Arms over her head I’m there too, supporting her.
When she’s listening to the words in some song -

I’m mouthing the same words, singing along.
When she’s asleep laid up at night
Looking for all the world like an angel in flight -

Her golden hair like a halo around her, I’m there -
Looking over her, watching her suck her thumb.
Her dreams elastic themes wind their way to me.

I breathe out, she breathes in. Rhythmically we are the same song,
The same beat on the bongo bong, she’s not crazy, she’s not wrong.
I’m here to tell her to be strong. I’m here to tell her it won’t be long.
