It will be painful for a while,
it is going to eat away at you.
Of course it will sting a bit
as all disinfectant stings.
Try to focus on the cleansing.

Don't let your mind start to wonder
down questions that have no answer.
That will only wind the clock backwards.
'What if' can only bring you pain,
the only question is 'what now? '

Soon, there will come relief
not today, but soon, you will be healed.
You will wake up without all that
weight chained around your ankles.
You will look out on the horizon,
and you will step forward.
