There Will Be No Phoenix. Poem by Carl Roussell

There Will Be No Phoenix.

Rating: 5.0

There was a spark
that lit the world in a light,
I had to close my eyes,
I couldn't bear to see
such an eventuality.

There was a spark
that lit the world with a fire,
I had to close my heart,
I couldn't bear to feel
the touch of eternal ash.

There was a spark
that lit the world, my world,
I had to close my eyes,
I couldn't bear to feel
my world end eternal.

In spite of the theme, The Phoenix always rises! And so it shall with you and your daughter at the book launch!
