There's a reason why
they look at dad
He's always yelling
angry and mad
And when the bruises
finally appear
he will tell me he loves me
and that I'm always
safe here
he says it's my fault
he gets so mad
proving himself useless
as a dad
he colors my skin
black and blue
'yes they asked me daddy
but it was all about you'
I lied to them just like you said
because if I didn't
id probably be dead
the marks go away
on a dark and dreary day
I talked to a boy
he said there was another way
he said I could tell
that I've been living in hell
and that they would send him
strait to jail
so I tried to speak up
sudden and abrupt
they took him away
on a new bright day
to everyone with a hidden secret about some one
who is supposed to love you, but just leaves you
black and blue
does your dad beat you or what good job oh i see its about u know who
I came across, your poem and now, I understand your torment! It's horrible, to have a parent, who is abusive, or for that matter, anyone! I'm glad you spoke up and I'm glad you got help! Please hang in there, as I'm sure you have friends, who can help you, through this dark period, of your life. It isn't over Unique! It's the beginning of a new, tomorrow and you will see, sunnier days ahead!
