Things Change To Be The Same Poem by Aniruddha Pathak

Things Change To Be The Same

Where millions get graduated,
Few claim to be educated,
Easy where beef and pork get pitted,
Work's seldom worshipped, cow's sacred,
Politics reeks of raw hatred,
Where everywhere you see seems red,
Where power, position walk ahead,
Leaders are cut off from the led
But pose with the lay to break bread,
Where populists get elected,
Nation's good is where thwarted,
And self interest looms ahead,

If valued votes aught be wasted,
What use voting, what elected?

We voted in 2014 elections with a lot of hope and enthusiasm.
Hope that things will change, and they seemed changing for a while, perhaps in comparison with what was before. But soon hopes were frittered. Another election would soon be on. But should it be for electing a lesser evil? This ditty might just be one more cry in wilderness.

But what is the solution? Very is the alternative among them all? Even NOTA is no complete alternative. Political parties only a game of musical chairs, and they get their chance. Thanks indeed.
