Thinking Of You Poem by Lizzie O'Neill

Thinking Of You

The thoughts,
The memories,
Keep passing through my head,
I lie in the dark,
My eyes shut tight,
Trying to hold back the tears.

The memories are good,
Some even make me laugh,
But it never stops the pain,
Hurt,
Even anger.

You left so soon,
So fast and abrupt,
Like a blink of the eye.

Nothing I can do,
Nothing I ever could,
But I think of you,
Remembering times,
Push away the thought of you been taken away from me.

I believe you're somewhere smiling from above,
I'll do it for you,
I'll make you happy,
The daughter you left,
But I'll make you proud of me.
