Fake Society? Poem by Lizzie O'Neill

Fake Society?

So many times we see
The fake eyelashes,
Fake tan,
Fake chest,
Clothes to small,
Face caked in make up.

Men call them promiscuous,
Girl's call them fake,
Men want them,
Girl's see the attention,
So become like them.

The photo's on social sites,
The comments good,
Bad ones removed,
Attentions all they crave.

Why do we need to conform to such lengths,
Just to be noticed,
Just to stand out from the crowd.

Naturals not in,
Natural don't get you noticed,
The magazines show that,
Its all in the look.

Doesn't matter whats underneath,
The brains,
The personality,
The harsh truth,
How can we be real,
When society screams for fake.

My own thoughts too - too many air-brushed beauties in magazines which do not reflect reality.
