This? Is After Poem by Lawrence S. Pertillar

This? Is After

Close shut all doors.
On those befores.
This? Is after.
After the nonsense has passed.
And survivors have recovered from conflicts.
After tears cried have left them dry.
Leaving threats to fear,
Gone no longer to appear.

Those befores.
To happen expecting more of them,
Have disappeared from minds and ears.
Or sought heard to whisper.
Causing division and animosity.
Bigotry and hatred.
As if gifts to give done randomly.
No more are those befores accepted.
Or expected as the after has arrive to come.

This,
Is now the after of disastrous decisions made.
By those seeking to want,
Humanity controlled to rule as if slaves.
Craving conflict and deception as a way of life.

This,
Is the dawning...
Of a higher consciousness awakening to reject,
A destructive corrupted mindset.
Allowed now put to rest.
By an effective arresting truth.
Unleashed upon the evil doers.
And their seductive wickedness.

This to witness,
Is the after.
After the nonsense has passed.
After the bigotry and hatred,
Has run out of the gas...
Created by lies and hypocrisy.
After conflicts, division and racism,
Thought to last.
Gone.
Behind closed doors and 'befores'.
To have no more of this...
Childish pettiness!

This?
Is after,
Humanity awakens from a sickness self inflicted!
