This Is The End Of All Longing

This is the end of all longing.
Of lucklessness the last sigh
Drawn, where twas kept deplorable
A tormented God's ear by.

Aye; this is prayer; dissolved again
In other tears, fulfilling!
Answered, love-full. By way of His
Our heart's redemptive spilling.

I am its witness, as surely
Am as dewy gazed upon.
Love's name henceforth shall 'Mercy' be
Through this its daughters' mention.
