'Twas once recited
In yester-years
Like a song
Words chanted and again
Emphasis laid not
On the lines' meaning
'Twas a childhood poem
The poet not remembered.

As time slipped like age
This poem is encountered again
The words familiar
But the meaning came to senses
It is a poem of childhood
That has come back
Rekindled the innate power
To explore the years gone
The poet's worldview
And the poet's self-rediscovery.

Proficiently and adequately styled to figuratively symbolize how time coincides with gradual understanding.
