This Rose Poem by Mazwi Sedibe

This Rose

Thank you to the flower that baked me this rose.
That gorgeous countenance that painted
The smile that inspired this very prose.
The smile that made the dead old good feelings rose.

The scent of this rose reaches our hearts in time
To learn a new rhythmic dance with swing.
The sweet melodies emitted from the roses thorny clashes
Recites to us an enchanting song so strong, so along we sing.

Happiness is a hefty choice for those
That loathe the receipt of pity postcards.
Joy only finds those, with open hearts and
Are already travelling with a baggage filled with quantities of tranquility.
Life is onerous when no one finds the time to smell this rose.

This song about this perfect rose withered,
Yet the message about the beauty of the rose arose.
Three days later, that night all pain froze,
And from the freezing cold the rose petals danced to the charismatic song.
Falling down the sky like the wedding day confetti.
A reminder that from bad, still comes the good
This rose right here is good.
