This Traveler Poem by Cynthia Buhain-baello

This Traveler

I'm thankful to God for the years that passed
That I made it at sixty-four!
Gold nuggets of lessons I have amassed
And I do hope that I get more!
The valleys and mountains, they were steep
In this journey, I know I fell
The times were hard but my eyes I keep
Fixed on the end which I know quite well!
Knees may bleed, rains may hinder
The way may be dark and dreary,
But persistence is worn by this traveler
And on my way... I write my story.
I hope when I'm done with my pilgrimage
You'd take time to stop where I've been-
Perhaps my steps slowed, I was stopped by age
But the footprints there can be seen!
