This Young French Girl Poem by Ima Ryma

This Young French Girl

The young girl born in rural France
Grew up on the family farm.
English invasion circumstance
Brought her village resulting harm.
And then this young girl did begin
To have visions from angels who
Told her to join the world of men,
To lead in battles she would do.
And so this young girl without fear
Believed that God had given her
Divine destiny that was clear,
That she was born for this for sure.

On sainthood journey to embark,
She left the farm, young Joan of Arc.
