Those Who Promote Equality Poem by Francis Duggan

Those Who Promote Equality

Though the pauper and billionaire breathe the same air
You don't have to tell me life's not always fair
And though here's to those who promote equality
What they hope for they may never live to see
Yet what they do stand for is such a good thing
And their praises I'll always feel happy to sing
They only can hope for what ought to be
Though with what they believe in I am one who agree
Some say we receive from life what is our due
And to one's higher self one can only stay true
If others think differently that suits me fine
Their ideas of life is their business not mine
Those who promote equality in my sights walk tall
And long live the truth in a fair go for all.
