Though I Won The Race? - Poem by nimal dunuhinga

Juror panel refused to offer me the trophy
And they questioned;
'How an Eastern donkey
Joined the English steeplechase? '
Then I said politely;
'Sir/Madam I am your colonial friend
And I have already jumped from your English cradle in my fading dreams! '
