Thousands of Soldiers are stepping
From every country that there is,
Not one of those Soldiers are regretting
For serving their country when they did.
They are walking on the fields and in the towns they once battled
And on the oceans and the seas they once fought,
Across their country and the world they traveled
Freedom for themselves and others they had sought
They are singing and they all are chanting
As they all walk patriotically side by side,
They are not fighting or hating or ranting
As the Holy Spirit is now their guide.
They are singing songs from when they were younger
From different countries and languages and lands,
With a joy as if with a great mighty hunger
Now following the Lord as he commands.
Battles they might have lost and they might had won
Though for them, their family and friends and country grieved,
But, now they are walking towards the sun
What was asked from them they had all achieved.
They hear the drums and the bagpipes playing
As they all are marching towards their final home,
They still remember their flags in the breeze swaying
They have finally ended their long, long roam.
The bloodied battlefield's they have all left
Proudly they would all serve their country valiantly once again,
For their country they gave their last heartbeat and breath
As go marching those thousands of men.
