Three Days That Changed The World! Poem by Denis Martindale

How tragic was the travesty, the judgement of that time.
To scourge a man for Calvary, and yet what was the crime?
To love with love that cannot die, but fill Mankind with awe?
To preach, proclaim, and prophesy? To heal both rich and poor?
To pour out wisdom from God's Throne meant for lost souls on Earth?
To be the Lamb of God alone, since no-one else had worth?
To stay, upon the Cross of Christ, as Heaven's angels stared?
To stay, and thus get sacrificed, as one who truly cared?

To see His Mother on her knees who knew that He loved still?
To hear His Mother ill at ease, yet trusting in God's will?
But death would be a leap of faith, though some would say Christ slept,
His death the only way to save each sinner who has wept.
Blood once spilling, falling, streaming. Blood surviving, barely showing.
Blood instilling, blood redeeming. Blood reviving, ever flowing.
What God once promised to His Son has changed the world for sure!
Each Easter tells us what was done! Forgiveness and much more!
