Three Years Away Poem by Bill Galvin

Three Years Away

Do you recall…
When the singer sang his songs for only us?
Do you recall…
The words that were so hard for me to say?
Can you recall…
The time before Life became such a fuss?
Do you recall…
When it was all just a brand new day?

Can't you still hear…
The songbirds sing - the chickadee?
Remember then…
Life full of color, with no dismay?
Can't you still feel…
Warm winds blowing through the valley?
Can you recall…
When it was all just a brand new day?

We can recall…
That Life that was always upbeat.
We can recall…
That simple and loving way.
We can recall…
A lively Spirit; a Soul complete.
But now's the time…
When we choose for today.

With memory…
Of a woman-child ever so sweet.
And grateful yet…
For every remaining new day.
