Three Cups Of Coffee Poem by Bill Galvin

Three Cups Of Coffee

Rating: 5.0

Three cups of coffee…
Not enough to make me leave;
Sitting here in loneliness,
On this trip to help me grieve.
Your loss is felt so deep in me,
I doubt that the peace, they say,
Might be around that next bend,
Or as near as be my sleeve.

Three cups of coffee…
Doesn’t even light a spark;
Not that I’m even looking
Much for any quick jump start.
Three cups of coffee
Should certainly be enough
To get this old engine running,
Even tho it might run rough.
I sit here in this lonely world
Without my precious love.
I sit here in this lonely world
With no relief, without release;
Without my precious lifelong love,
It will be hard to find that peace.

Three cups of coffee…
Not enough to make me move;
To continue on this lonely trip;
What is there left to prove?
Three cups of coffee…
Not enough to make me leave
Sitting here in loneliness
Wiping tears upon my sleeve.
Sitting here so depressed,
Continuing to grieve.

I sit here in this lonely world
Without peace, with no release,
And without my precious love,
When will the ache decrease?
How will the pain be ceased?
Without my precious lifelong love.

A vividly emotional piece on love, loneliness, and loss. There is no doubt this one comes from the heart. The tears may as well roll off the page. It's a sad tale. But one worth sharing. I hope you find a way to diminish that void you feel Bill. I enjoy your work. And will be reading you often from here on

Thanks again, Mike... a lot of tears last year, and still occasionally. But, if you read chronologically, you'll see my light at the end of the tunnel.
