Thresholds Crossed Poem by Lawrence S. Pertillar

Thresholds Crossed

Truth to fiction it.
And reality deceived.
Corruption and fraud to commit,
Admitted as if permitted openly.
Laws and rules of justice,
Disobeyed as if to excuse...
Children who lack discipline.
With this done to accuse,
And too often to blame...
Them, they and those others,
For the doing of this.
As a convenience to refuse...
To acknowledge,
Who the culprits are.
Yet...
Hoping,
That a defining them as heroes...
Gives their misdeeds credibility.
With status that anoints them,
Automatically qualified...
For leadership capabilities.
Picked and elected,
By those mentally affixed...
To image and not substance.
And carrying,
Over thresholds crossed...
The latest videos,
Depicting violence, division...
Conflict.
And...
Attractive weapons used.
Leaving impressions made,
On minds already sold...
To perform wicked acts!
