Through Every Green Leaf's Rapture

Through every green leaf's rapture
On every April tree
How can it be
You are sending us so intensively
Waves and waves of happiness
O Lord God
Let me not be blind to see
Or deaf to hear
The surging of the flower fed winds
As they gather speed
And feel rise in me
As in girlhood, childhood
The mysterious feeling of the freedom within
We can breathe
And find in every breath your presence
We can dream
And find we are awake
To exorbitant birdsong
To unseen currents of angels
And the massing clouds.
