---for a color sketch by Natali Wienstein
Tibetan bells, where did you get such colors?
Why are they combined in soft curvy shapes?
Why did the painter lavishly manifest them anew?
Who can calculate how to value her impulse?
What is being celebrated? What is being consoled?
Untold languages are talking to each other;
bell shapes are being written in light and tissue;
pleats are unfurled and chromophores deployed.
A delivery system commands all mechanisms:
even if light waves must be captured in a box,
fragrant intention overleaps every way station,
bringing its offering of delight to a nerve net.
Destinations are gathered en route; homage is the carrier,
and the blooming doesn't stop at the edge of a petal.
