Time Defines Eternity Poem by RAJ NANDY

Time Defines Eternity

TIME DEFINES ETERNITY

St. Agustine in his 'City of God', wrote in
prose unrhymed,
That God created the world simultaneously
with time!
Since time exists with our diurnal motion,
Henri Bergson defines it as a growth and
accumulation; *
While time keeps gaining in stature with each
transition!
Eternity is stagnation, there is no change,
A fact in favour of elusive time's defence!
But for Plato, time represents the changing face
of eternity,
Yet time has no separate dimensional identity;
It becomes a fourth dimension coupled with
the other three!
But I wonder, without the creation of time, -
where will eternity be? !
Time was created to give us a taste of eternity,
To become aware of its infinite variation and
propensity!
Eternity had to be known, it had to be felt,
While time's minute drops of minutes, in its
mighty ocean blends!
