Time Forever Poem by Donald R Wolff JR

Time Forever

Time is a clinging mistress
That holds on like a parasite
Never letting any action-
Be a precious gift of life

It takes love for Time to fade
As the days go swiftly by
Never leaving for a moment
Always changing and not kind

In, this time there is no life
Without ever loving you
Should the looking glass be broken
So shall my heart so ever true

Some days are written rhythms
Meant before the end of time
Never will these passing moments
Belong to us once we say goodbye

My love, express your feelings
You must never let sweet Time decide
To live before life is over
Forgotten then, and left behind

Maybe time can last forever
Within a memory
For our hopes with every fear
To be relived inside of me

A wish became a prayer
A hope to keep you here
Nothing has ever lasted-
Longer than that fear

Indulge and gratify this favor
In this dream of loving you
My hope, belonging to you forever
Until all time is through

Then maybe when life goes on
Our love will still remain
Passed on to new beginnings
Where our love can make a change

In my heart it is you forever
Breaking all the rules
Let Time end, but us, let never
Let's make Time the only Fool

A dream can be an open door
A way to break a written spell
Still the words, they must be spoken
Until forever Time must tell

So, Dear, don't break my spirit
Say you love me too
Today can be a lasting story
If our love remains forever true

You will always have my love
Even if love has to die
And should we not be forever
We'll still have a place in time
