Time Poem by Donald R Wolff JR

Time

Moving without notice like a thief in the night.
Claiming your victims who exist in this life.
Taking formative years without a planned scheme.
You pass without mercy destroying some dreams.
What seemed so eternal has become distant past.
Now lost in forever beyond holding grasp.
Yearning for school days that were treasured so much.
Missing the laughter of children who rode on our bus.
The strawberry girl who was teased to a tear.
She became my dear wife until you took her last year.
Time is a crime intense with regrets.
Passing away in the moments we never forget.
Sweet sadness must be lived as our dreams fade away.
When life reaches sunset at the end of our day.
