Time Never Stops Poem by Barry Middleton

Time Never Stops

between the inspiration
and the final act
a metronome keeps ticking

between eyes meeting
and the kiss
heartbeats count the stars

each night
the earth turns its back
to the sun

between I will and I did
dark days come
as a challenge

beneath a silent clock
the years fade away
into lost orbits

possibility becomes memory
there is always doubt
time never stops

It is the time which met us in the past and will lead us to the future. It remains a witness to everything we do in life. The graphic reminds me of Salvador Dali's well-known painting 'Melting Clocks'.Thanks. a metronome keeps ticking / each night the earth turns its back / to the sun / time never stops

There is a Dali museum just north of me in St Petersburg Florida, a wonderful place.
