Time To Fight Poem by Joseph Narusiewicz

Time To Fight

We sat on the shores of another time
Laughed amidst the sighing tides
Realized that love stands for every man
Decided to love justice hand in hand

The city is a furnace of doubt and pain
They shipped out jobs for gold and gain
Our love is a struggle in this evil hour
We fight the men of greed and power

Baby, please tell me what love sings
Tell me what you really dream
I have heard the bells chime and ring
I want everyman to feel free

We stare at the fences of the gated city
They create the poor and say what a pity
Kiss me my darling and join the fight
This class warfare is a true plight

They bust the unions and tare us apart
So many cannot make a new start
Baby please let me feel your strong hand
Sing Woody Guthrie’s this land is your land

Baby, please tell me what love sings
Tell me what you really dream
I have heard the bells chime and ring
I want everyman to feel free

Fifty million with out health care
They ship out jobs and call it fair
Now the line is crossed and we must fight
There is a time for peace and a time to fight

Let your voice cry it is time to fight
