It is time for me to go to sleep
Under the tree that I used to climb
During my childhood when no one
Was looking in the sultry noon of May

In is time for me to see a dream
In my peaceful sleep of days gone
When the courtyard reverberated with
Cry of siblings as they did play and sway

During vacation in summer when
Schools were closed and no worry
To wake up at the break of dawn and
Rote lessons for tests through the hot day

It is time for me to go to sleep
In the fragrance of roots of the tree
That has gained much shed to give me
Shelter from the summers scorching ray
