'Tis A Winner's Human World Poem by Francis Duggan

'Tis A Winner's Human World

There are winners and losers in most everything
But 'tis only of the praises of winners that you hear people sing
The winner as usual takes most of the fame
None want to be known as a loser by name
To the winner the admirers their toasting glasses raise
And the winner as usual takes all of the praise
Like 'tis said you cannot be a winner if in it you are not in
Yet so many must lose just for one for to win
In the Human World for every one have there's many a have not
For to swell the numbers of the poor and forgot
For success of every sort people with each other compete
And believe me there is never joy in defeat
'Tis a winners Human world that's how it seems to me
And that is the way that it always will be.
