To Excuse It Done Poem by Lawrence S. Pertillar

To Excuse It Done

Anything one does.
To excuse it done to do repeatedly.
It becomes an addiction.
One habitually refuses to quit.
To rely on it.
And those who listen,
Become victims too.
Since they refuse and deny,
They enjoy hearing others complain.
As if this is a 'fix' needed.
And sought until that crave is satisfied.

"Where are you going in such a rush? "

-You and I have been talking,
For over an hour.
And I can't take anymore of it.-

"What did I say? "

-Nothing negative.
Nothing to complain about.
What is wrong with you? -

"Huh? "

-I need to hear complaints.
I need to hear excuses made.
All this positivity...
And well wishes exchanged between us,
Is driving me absolutely crazy.
I've gotta go.
This is not normal.
I'll talk to you later.
I need a fix of B.S.-
