To Money God Poem by Mehta Hasmukh Amathaal

To Money God

We pray daily to money God
She is known as Laxmiji*and we bow with words
That is one kind of faithful surrender
To do anything for getting favor

She has blessed many people
But not rushed to the people who daily struggle
For two square meals
They are forced to steal

We call them beggars
We show some pity and offer
Few coins as gesture
And seek his blessings forever

This is no charity
But fear from the side of an almighty
We expect Go to visit us in any form
And this only frightens us with concern

“Stay out of bad habits” the legend says
“Keep house free from W.W.W”
The goddess stays in house
Where there is always repentance and feelings

• W…woman
• W… wine
• W.. wealth
