Todays Rain Poem by Biff McGuire

Todays Rain

The sky unloads a summer storm
Clinkity clank; the tin roof records the rhythm
Shingles appear liquid in the sheen
Cleansed and refreshed, weaker leaves fall
As limbs succumb to the wet weight
The grass embraces lavish moisture
Anticipating future rays of the sun
Chill sets in, clouds break again
The hail is beating down the mullein
