Tombstone Tales Poem by Marilyn Lott

Tombstone Tales

Rating: 4.4

It takes place in a cemetery, my friend
You are sucked right into the past
In the midst of the 1800’s it was
Where history was forever cast

Folks dressed up like they were
Back in the old western days
You’ll believe everything they say
As you relive old-fashioned ways

This wonderful place is at Fort Reno
You will listen to exciting stories
Some so sad you want to cry
Others are of heroes and glory

Can you imagine what it would be like
To walk the trail of yesterday?
Feeling what they used to feel
Going back after such a long delay

Why, it just gives me chills to think
Of life where so often things failed
Enjoying a place that loves history
Hearing wonderful Tombstone Tales!
