Tombstones: Signs Of The Times Poem by Bryan Taplits

Tombstones: Signs Of The Times

Tombstones in the cemetery, the only ones upright
(It's a little late, I guess, for the submerged to be uptight)
Releases all the sentiments of the recent blue bereaved-
For you won't spend the staggering sum of the stone
If on that death you feel relieved.
The only feelings that you have
are that one which leaves you free of sin:
Yes. These rites of death are pleasing to one and all-
Except for those who died to get in.
