Too Often And Too Much Poem by Lawrence S. Pertillar

Too Often And Too Much

People who continue,
To lie to themselves.
And to others not to know,
How far those lies to tell told go.
Victimize innocent lives.
Without it to realize the price to pay.
Regardless how big or small.
Or the color of them to believe,
Their defense protects them with denial.

"But...
How was I to know,
I was told nothing truthful? "

-This I have noticed,
And without your tears.
How clear your eyes had been.
Although recently that clarity,
Seems to have disappeared.-

The best cure and remedy for this...
Tearing 'activity' to stop and quit.
Is to not be so quick,
To say to another what was heard to hear.
Especially without proof.
With this to always know...
That the minding of one's own business,
Eliminates accusations.
Of doing this too often and too much!
