Topsy Turvy Poem by Leslie Alexis

Topsy Turvy

I sit and dream of a reality in which the only thing I am certain of is that nothing is real.
Where there's: world peace
And the west gets along with the east,
Where the earth is the center of the universe
And the moon gives light by day
Where no one goes to work
And everyone comes out to play.

A reality in which your tender love I feel,
And our hearts are branded and marked
With an irreplaceable, unbreakable seal.
Where our lips embrace
And heartbreaks our soul can't trace,
Where in my arms I hold you -
My Love.
And In that moment, time stands still:
There you stay, the warmth of your body willing me to live
And your scent fueling my every being.
We love
In each other eyes we find our destiny
Our fate is crafted into one,
We travel life's road, along a part leading to a happy end.

But, I only dream
In reality, our two are as distant as the poles:
I love,
So do you,
But another.
The Universe keeps us apart.
In my heart you grow bigger,
But, to my senses you've become the shiny star,
That no matter how high I climb,
I just can't touch,
Nor conquer.
That's my reality,
So, I rather Dream.

COMMENTS OF THE POEM

Dreams... A dimension within our minds where our world is not as it seems. I love your dream of reality, a perfect world. Maybe one day, when the world itself wakes. Thanks for the great poem. *~Layla Stone~*
