'Total Silence' Poem by Linda Winchell

'Total Silence'

Could one ever find total silence?
listening to the nothingness in their air.
Just to sit and hear nothing around them
filling those silent spots in their ears.

I tried to find that total silence
while I was all alone.
I found a place in the house
and made that my silent zone.

But nothing seemed to happen
no silence seemed to occur.
All I could seem to focus on
were the noises that were heard.

All I ever wanted, was to find my nothingness sound.
But I've yet to find it anywhere
There's not a silent bit of silence around.
