reader stop be warned this
is an extremely emotive disturbing theme
told by a wife poet claims;

therefore stop reading now if this
will disturb your sense of propriety
innocence for it is a tale perhaps

true perhaps not I judge needs to be told;

even if the account I read is fiction
the marriage crime is forced sexual abuse
conveyed with detail dread repulsion

chillingly occurring over many years;

this is not can never be claimed
to be an act of affection genuine love
this is not real romantic true love

toxic love does not count
toxic love is scaring not love
toxic love is damaging victims

sadly even today in a marriage bed
consensual rights denied can be raped
despite a firm No No repeated plea

how a partner can claim to love then demand
rights to violation of claimed loved partner is a cruel
criminal disaster this plight of any tormented

repeatedly tortured wife partner pierces heart
eyeball like a hot metal knife through butter
Ramona confessed her marital nightmare story

with detail detestable proving her cruel brutal
husband violated her humanity treating her like
an inhuman piece of meat Ramona spoke of a

moment one look in the eye that unspoken foretold
another night sickened how shock waves rolling
shivering left her skin crawling in bitter repulsion

revulsion disgust an entire day had lead in dread
to this moment dreading the question his eyes
were now asking; lust in his hungry greedy gaze

was devouring Ramona reduced to nothing
more than a forced piece of meat forced
to preform yet again; traumatized fear forced

yet again into a degrading act of submission
her public show loving husband knows
Ramona detests does not want, mind horror

screams revolted ewe as Ramona hears
sickening unzipping and pulling it out
not all personalities develop a taste for all

things marital oral sex is an act not all
can stomach; the right to choose to say No;
No No No No is a right written in law;

this form of rape Ramona said is
the punishment for still loving
her demeaning husband even after all

these years of torture?

many find it hard to understand
why victims endure toxic abuse
fail to reach out for any help

we understand know an intensity of issues
of shame, economic circumstances, nowhere to go,
no friends, perhaps worse yet indifference

of those who pretend not to know
Ramona addressed this topic bravely back in 2008
a topic hid that needed addressing;

this demands respect,
it is no easy burden to shoulder
shame in hopes this leads

to law changes better lives for others?
