As the storm rages on and hope’s light is dimmed
The world carries on and doesn’t look in
Lives are lost and things are destroyed
Yet for some reason, help won’t deploy
Cries for mercy and screams of outrage are heard
So how is it we haven’t heard a word?
Why do we turn away?
Water seeps throughout our country.
Death is a daily routine on our streets.
But you just sit back and count your money
Tragedy can be hard to get over
But maybe the tragedy means it’s over
It means that the sun will shine
And then we can slowly appease our minds
It means that the good will come
That the fire’s done.
And in the end we’ve won.
Now we can learn from our mistakes
Then try to prevent it from repeating itself
Now we can look back on the past
And travel forward so that we can last
Sp child dry your tears and silence your sobs
The tragedy is almost over
Even if there isn’t a lucky clover.
I liked the theme of this poem so relavant with the current events going onin the world and our nation with an inclination toward advocacy and the nation and world coming to some conclusion on generating some solutions to our state of existence versus talking about it...

This poem read very much like RELEASE ME. It was unspectacular and plain. Again, the subject was and is ripe for expression but there is little here to excite the reader. The ending, once again, was lacking. Again, the meaning was clear to the reader but I'm not sure it would inspire much in the human mind. Fair again. GW62
