Tragedy Of Modern Living... Poem by Sebastian Melmoth

Tragedy Of Modern Living...

Rating: 5.0

Tragedy of modern living the pressures of the world of public opinion around us
Sitting alone feeling the force of judgemental voices from the outside breaking into a fragile skull

Life's walls come falling down brick by brick, piece by piece around sensitive ears
Feelings of sorrow, fingers of blame, the shame of emotions, feelings of continuous fears

Separation from reality creeping in, the segregation from the appearance of normality, the exile solitude deterioration of mental health wearing thin.

Patronising messages romanticising mental well-being ‘let's talk' modern buzz words without real meaning
People who genuinely care frustrated overwhelmed with the demand of a thousand hands reaching out for help

No surprise when suicide then becomes the nuclear option brains desperate search for help needed grasping onto the spirit of hope wanting to try
People quick to comment the perfect deflection strategy from the troubles in their own life's perceptions misjudged the poison that multiplies

When hit rock bottom some are lucky to be grabbed by the love of a guardian angel who really gets it, really gets you
Others lost stepping through the door to the other side leaving loved ones with the question marks of helplessness bearing the loss of your spirit

The power of being picked up and shown a way back to rebuild the once the shadowy figure that was you
The lifeline chances far and few to guide and pull you through

Compassion, care, love and support, human instincts that can beat the negative pulse
The need to raise understanding of the individuality of the brains journey its complex structure battling the demons locked in the tragedy of modern living
