Transformation Poem by Theresa Ann Moore

Transformation

Architect or artist… M. C. Escher
creating beautiful forms of night and day…
propelled into infinity and beyond

An artist of invention
drawing with a new found a sense of wonder;
life taking a path with many twists and turns

Finding forms when none existed...
concentrating on gathering pieces
quilting around... putting shapes together

Filling a flat plane with birds, lizards, insects, and such
buttering bread; sliding squares of cheese…
chiseled and chewed

Arranged to fly and slither…
crawl and swim within the canvas
of the naked eye

An intricate quest to understand
why stairways lead back the to beginning
as patterns create a transformation…

Congruent repetition
adhered with a glue that strengthens recognition
inspiration…fasciation

A metamorphosis of changing forms…
translated into a land of never before
