Trust Sometimes Misplaced Poem by RoseAnn V. Shawiak

Trust Sometimes Misplaced

Trust is sometimes misplaced in this lone earthly life,
not trusting another for that would take away from what's
been placed silently on sidewalks of a difficult past.

Listening, as things climbing onto a locomotive kept
racing down the tracks, wanting to never keep still, just
hoping for a lifetime of energy.

Never forgetting beats of melodies and harmonies, now
making clear, the pictures and portraits of a life that
has taken every position of fidelity, innocence and joy.

Retrieving and holding onto the essence of many beats
that continue to be kept close inside, needing to have
inner strength, never letting it go.
